Summer just isn’t long enough for all the cute ‘kinis I want to wear–at least not where I am currently living in Northern New Jersey. Don’t get me wrong: experiencing all four seasons is great, but I am definitely a warm weather type of gal who prefers wearing swimsuits and loves soaking up the sun over cozying up fireside in a sweater.
Colder weather may be on its way, but MINIMALE ANIMALE is helping me end summer on a hot note. Not only does this brand of killer swimsuits make me feel like I live in and endless summer (at least while I’m wearing their pieces), they design and manufacture their goods in the U.S.A. What could be better than that?
On a couple of the last warm, sunny days summer had to offer, I opted for these two one-pieces by MA: one in black, and one in a classic red.
The Lucid Onezie is easily one of the hottest swimsuits I’ve ever seen; at a glance it looks like a typical string ‘kini, but, like all MA suits, the devil is definitely in the details.
Crisscross details on each side connect the top portion of the suit to the bottom portion, turning it into a skimpy one-piece number. Ultimately, the straps meet across the back, and we all know I am a total sucker for interesting back details.
Like I said, this suit is ultra-skimpy, so there’s minimal front and back coverage in terms of the bottom portion of the suit. This piece is definitely not for the faint of heart.
The Daiquiri Suit is just as sexy, but with a little more coverage. It is low-cut on the chest and high-cut on the hips with a gorgeous ribbed texture. This suit’s strings can be tied multiple ways; personally I love wrapping them all the way around, from front to back. It creates a belt-like effect that draws attention to the waist, while offering a little depth to the not-so-basic one-piece.
Because The Daiquiri is from the label’s M I N I M A L E collection, it’s not quite as revealing as The Lucid Onezie. Instead of a cheeky, booty-hugging fit, this suit is mostly backless with a more modest bum.
Like many other MA pieces, I love, love, love these suits because they’re fully equipped with adjustable straps. There’s nothing more frustrating than finding a gorgeous suit that just doesn’t perfectly fit your curves.
Most importantly, both these pieces are comfortable! With swimsuits, you definitely get what you pay for, so I don’t mind spending a little extra for a quality suit with an excellent fit that will hold up for seasons to come.
