Natural haircare solutions | with Maple Holistics

As you guys surely know by now, I am a huge fan of tea tree (and natural beauty remedies in general). That’s why I was so psyched when Maple Holisitics, an organic and natural beauty company, wanted to collab with me!

In exchange for an honest review on Haute Mess, Maple Holisitics sent over their Tea Tree Oil Special Formula Shampoo. This was especially exciting because I was planning on doing a massive overhaul in terms of my haircare lineup soon–drugstore products just aren’t cutting it for me anymore.

Because I’ve been so happy with my natural skincare remedies, I was definitely looking into natural haircare products as well. My hair is in need of some major TLC after years of dye, drugstore products and heat tools. This collab really couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.

Maple Holistics, a New Jersey-based company, manufactures its products in the U.S.A.–something that is very important to me and close to my heart. So, of course I was thrilled to work with the team after reading up on the company’s values.

The formula of this shampoo itself is sulfate-free, which is the number-one thing you should look for when shopping for haircare products, no matter your hair type or haircare needs.

Tea tree is arguably more effective than traditional shampoo ingredients (such as ammonium chloride, glycol and various forms of polysorbate). In fact, it provides this shampoo in particular with over 98 all-natural compounds that promote scalp health.

Maple Holistics promises that their well-balanced formula provides safety, quality and results–something not all shampoos formulated with tea tree can truthfully claim.

The hearty shrub, native to Australia, clears dead skin cells from the hair follicles and combats dandruff as it instantly refreshes. Popular shampoos sold on drugstore shelves can be overly drying, causing dandruff, in addition to brittle locks.

Maple Holistics also adds rosemary and lavender to this formula for added benefits.

Rosemary stimulates the hair follicles’ cell renewal, while regulating oil production and increasing circulation to in aid leaving the hair and scalp smooth and refreshed.

A popular ingredient in beauty products (both all-natural and otherwise) throughout the world, lavender is a natural antiseptic, which clears any blemishes on the scalp, while soothing the pain of burns and preventing infections. It is also known to reduce scarring. (Plus, its scent has become synonymous with pampering–so it’s a must-have component of this spa-quality shampoo!)

In addition to an instant refresh and overall clean feeling, after just one use I noticed my unruly hair (which is in desperate need of a trim) is much easier to manage and style.

And after continued use over the past week or so, my hair is noticeably smoother to the touch with a fresh-from-the-salon glossy finish–results I’d never get with the myriad of drugstores products I’ve used over the years (except maybe Mane ‘n Tail).

I am so excited to keep Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Special Formula Shampoo in my haircare routine! Like I said, it is perfect for those who are ingredient-conscious; those who are looking to stay away from harmful ingredients in their self-care products.

Many of the ingredients commonly used in shampoos–especially those mainstream, drugstore shampoos–cause nasty (and potentially harmful!) buildup in the hair and scalp. The tea tree in Maple Holistics’ formula, however, actually helps combat buildup caused by a combo of these products and dead skin.
