There is nothing more attractive anyone–man or woman–could wear than jeans and a white t-shirt (at least, in my opinion). Throughout the years, this combo has made me feel put-together, confident and, most of all, comfortable.
While I love getting dressed up and glam from time to time, I am definitely a sucker for borrowed-from-the-boys styles, especially during the daytime. Baggy trousers and grandpa cardigans are both staples in my wardrobe. Even more essential, however, are an array of jeans and white t’s.
To keep these pieces looking and feeling fresh, there have definitely been a few small tweaks in terms of how I style them as I’ve grown up. And I have definitely come to the realization that there are two go-to ways I love to wear these pieces.
The first is a relaxed top with high-rise jeans, and the second is a tight, stretchy top with slouchy, low-rise jeans (like I’m wearing today).
I can’t wear this combo without a thick leather belt; I love the way it pulls the entire look together. If the weather (or the occasion) calls for it, I will also throw on a jacket in a color that ties into the belt. Today I opted for a gray knit one so that I could get away with wearing the black belt with brown shoes 😉
Embellishments, subtle patterns and distressing also bring these looks to life! Plain, no-nonsense jeans are great, don’t get me wrong, but I looove a strategically placed tear or two (or 10). Details like these are the perfect way to add texture and depth to a super basic outfit, but still look relaxed.
Gold or silver necklaces (the more the merrier) are definitely a must for me when wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. The metal instantly gives the entire look a more polished vibe.
One final way I keep this look feeling fresh is by swapping the shoes from year to year. For both jeans-and-white-t combos I mentioned, I tend to go for booties; they give me height but keep the look casual.
Currently, animal prints are my favorite option because they are made of neutral colors, yet they add a new pattern/texture element to the mix.
I have two pairs of snake print ankle booties (one brown, one white and gray) that I absolutely could not live without. They are the perfect combination of fashionable and effortless. (In the past, however, I’ve loved styling these outfits with Doc Martens and other chunkier styles.)
Someone who really inspires me to create more stylish, yet casual outfits is YouTuber Lauren Elizabeth. She always looks incredibly put-together, even in jeans and a white t. I take a lot of cues from her when it comes to personal style, then put my own spin on them. Keep scrolling for inspo and to shop my entire look! 🙂
