Earlier this year I dished everything you need to know about one of my favorite lip colors of all time: Orange! It is the best option for summertime; it’s bright, sunny and looks gorgeous with a tan!
Although I have been having so much fun creating bold looks as I’ve gotten better at makeup, lately nothing beats natural skin, minimal eyes and an easy lip. I can’t get enough of those beautiful warm shades, which is why I instantly knew I had to recreate one of Hung Vanngo’s latest makeup looks when I saw it.
The celeb makeup artist (read: living legend) gave model (read: goddess) Lily Aldridge a jaw-dropping orange, sun-kissed face. Effortless and undone, it is the ultimate summer makeup.
My base consisted of Milk Makeup’s Sunshine Skin Tint in Sand, plus Glossier’s Stretch Concealer in Medium. These two make the perfect minimal coverage, glowy base with a real-skin finish.
I used Glossier’s Cloud Paint in Dawn (a bright tangerine) on my cheekbones and across the bridge of my nose to fake a sunburn, then added ColourPop’s Super Shock Highlighter in Fire (a golden peach) on the orbital bones around the eyes, as well as my brow bones and cupid’s bow for a warm glow. For added color I dusted Becca’s Sunlit Bronzer (a favorite formula) in Capri Coast in the hollows of my cheeks and along my temples and hairline–easy!
Finishing touches included a coat of Glossier’s Boy Brow in Brown, as well as a very (very) light coat of Lash Slick. I love that Lily rocked a no-mascara look, but my lashes needed a slight boost after I got a little concealer on them while patching up the under-eye area. Before going in with the lip color, I misted my face using MAC’s Fix+. (I never want to use another setting spray after trying this one.)
The focal point of this look is definitely the lips! I am wearing Fenty Beauty’s Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Freckle Fiesta, a warm burnt orange with brownish undertones. This formula is amazing–long-lasting, pigmented comfortable and lightweight.
